Bible For Her (“Bible For Her”, “we”, “us”) respects the privacy of the users (“User”, “Users” or “you”) of the app (“app”) and is committed to protect the Users’ information. We believe that you have a right to know our practices regarding the information we may collect and use when you use our app.

Your Consent

BY INSTALLING THE APP ON YOUR MOBILE DEVICE OR BROWSER, ENTERING INTO, CONNECTING TO, ACCESSING AND/OR USING THE APP, YOU AGREE TO THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS SET FORTH IN THIS PRIVACY POLICY, INCLUDING TO THE POSSIBLE COLLECTION AND PROCESSING OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION. PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU OR, AS APPLICABLE, YOUR LEGAL GUARDIAN, DISAGREE TO ANY TERM PROVIDED HEREIN, YOU MUST NOT INSTALL, ACCESS AND/OR USE THE APP AND YOU ARE REQUESTED TO PROMPTLY ERASE THE APP FROM YOUR MOBILE DEVICE AND DO NOT ENTER TO, CONNECT TO, ACCESS OR USE ANY OF OUR SERVICES RELATED TO THE APP.

Subject matter of this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the App.

Unless stated otherwise, this Privacy Policy is exclusively in place to regulate how Bible For Her treats your personal information. If you make use of services provided by third parties, only the Privacy Policy conditions of these third parties shall apply. Please refer to their Privacy Policy.

What do we collect?

In this Privacy Policy "information" means any personal information about you which could identify you (by itself or in combination with other data) such as your name, address or email address.

We may collect the following data about you:

Data you give us directly

information you provide when you create or manage an account with us, such as your name, username, email address, password, profile image, language preference, and devotional or app preferences;

information you provide when using Bible For Her features, such as saved Bible reading progress, bookmarks, notes, prayer entries, devotion plans, reminders, favorites, or similar content you choose to save in the app;

information related to subscriptions, premium features, or other in-app purchases, such as purchase status, transaction identifiers, product identifiers, and receipts processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play;

information you provide when you contact us for support, report a problem with our app, or request account or data deletion.

Data we may collect when you use our App (whether or not you register with us)

data about your location, device type, operating system and platform;

mobile device identifiers (such as your unique device ID (persistent/non-persistent, hardware type, medial access control ("MAC") address, international mobile equipment identity ("IMEI"), OS, and your device name;

data about your computer's / device browser version, operating system version, page loading time, network, generated device identifier information, hashed MAC address, referral source and IP address.

usage data generated through using our app, such as app sessions, pages or features viewed, reading or devotional activity, notification interactions, crash logs, diagnostic events, and performance data;

the number of times you visit our app and the amount of time you spend using the app;

when you access the app through a supported third-party sign-in provider such as Apple or Google, we may receive information made available by that provider, such as your name, email address, user ID, profile image, and login details. You can manage the information shared by such third parties through the privacy settings they provide.

With this list, we try to be as clear and complete as possible, but we find it important to keep this Privacy Policy legible, so there may be other information we collect.

Why do we collect your data

We may use your data in the following ways:

To provide you the app and associated websites and continuously improve their features;

To save your account settings, reading progress, bookmarks, notes, prayer entries, devotion plans, reminders, favorites, and other app activity you choose to store;

To provide helpdesk and support services;

To customise the app which is available to you;

To ensure that you are in compliance with our terms;

To show (personalized) advertisements;

To target you through advertisements;

To enable in app purchases;

To improve the app, for analysis and reporting purposes and to offer you technical support or respond to your questions. This also includes using data to log any crashes in our provision of the app, so we may report such interruptions (in this regard, we may use a third party to assist us);

To personalise your experience;

To send you push notifications for the app (which you can choose not to accept or turn off by visiting the settings section of your device and selecting the appropriate setting);

To offer you other app which we think may be of interest to you;

To prevent fraud and crime;

To measure and improve our marketing campaigns and understand how users discover and use Bible For Her;

To meet legal and tax obligations;

To inform you by Emails (regarding updates, newsletter, new design, new features, (new) apps etc.);

Administrative purposes, such as notification of a violation of our terms of use.

Third parties

We use a range of third parties to help us manage your information and the app, such as our cloud service provider, Customer Service provider, developers, marketing companies, email providers, email sending providers, payment providers and IT maintenance providers. These are companies who process data on our behalf.

Ad network providers

Bible For Her may use ad network providers who assist us to serve advertisements to you. These ad network providers may also show interest based advertisements for other parties’ products and services within the app or on the associated websites and social media platforms based on the information that we have about you. We also make use of these networks to show our own advertisements.

Sign-in providers

If you choose to sign in with a supported third-party provider such as Apple or Google, that provider may share limited account information with us, such as your name, email address, user ID, and profile image. Your use of those sign-in providers is subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

Partner networks

Bible For Her may use partner network providers who assist us to distribute the app in order to enable as many users as possible to use our app.

Developers

The App will continuously be monitored and improved to maintain and effectuate the best app experience for our Users. Developers may therefore see and have access to your information, but they will only use this information for app optimization and development purposes.

App administrators

The App is being administered by app administrators. They have access to certain parts of your information in order to run and manage the app.

Website analytics

On the Bible For Her website, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand website visits and app-store link clicks. Analytics storage is enabled by default outside the EEA, United Kingdom and Switzerland. In those consent-required regions it remains denied unless you allow it. Please see the chapter “Cookies and other technologies” for further information.

Our app is analyzed and tracked with technologies of Adjust or Appsflyer. To this end, various session and interaction data from you are collected and stored. We may supply information to other parties if we are required to do so by law or by a ruling from a court of law.

Storage location of your information & retention

The data that we collect from you may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside of the European Economic Area ("EEA"). It may also be processed by one of our third-party partners operating outside of the EEA. This transfer is required to host the app, provide you with support services, perform backups of your data, allow you to use the app and the Website and to process your payment details if you make any in app purchases.

We will always ensure that any such transfers are conducted in accordance with relevant laws in order to ensure adequate protection.

We will keep data only for as long as it is relevant and useful for the purpose for which it was originally collected and otherwise where required by law. If your account or data is deleted, certain data may be retained where necessary for legal, security, fraud prevention, accounting, tax, backup, dispute resolution, or enforcement purposes.

Access to information

You have the right to request access to the information we have on you. You can do this by contacting us at support@bibleforher.app. We will make sure to provide you with a copy of the data we process about you. In order to comply with your request, we may ask you to verify your identity.

We will fulfill your request by sending your copy electronically. For any subsequent access request, we may charge you with an administrative fee.

How to Delete Your Account and Data

Deleting your account means that your account data, saved progress, and related personal data will be deleted or de-identified, subject to the retention limits described below.

To delete your account and data in the app, make sure you are logged in, then go to the "More" page, scroll to the bottom, tap "About Us", and tap "Close account or Erase my data". Follow the instructions shown in the app to submit your deletion request.

If you cannot access the app or cannot log in, please email support@bibleforher.app with the subject line "Delete My Account and Data". In your email, please include the app name "Bible For Her", the email address or user ID associated with your account, and any other information that helps us locate your account.

We may ask you to verify your identity before processing the request. After verification, we will delete or de-identify personal data associated with your account, unless we are required or permitted to retain certain information for legal, security, fraud prevention, accounting, tax, backup, dispute resolution, or enforcement purposes.

We aim to respond to deletion requests within 45 days of receiving a verifiable request. If we need more time, we will let you know.

Deleting your account or data from Bible For Her does not automatically cancel an active subscription purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Please cancel any active subscription through your App Store or Google Play account settings.

Your rights, Information correction & deletion

If you believe that the information we have about you is incorrect, you are welcome to contact us so we can update it and keep your data accurate.

If at any point you wish for Bible For Her to delete information about you, please follow the steps in the "How to Delete Your Account and Data" section above.

Opt-out of targeted advertising

You can opt-out of interest-based advertising by following the privacy settings of your Android, iOS or Amazon device and selecting "Limit Ad Tracking." You can also opt-out by turning off “personalized ads” on Apple iOS,or "Opt-out of Interest Based Ads" on Android. See the following guides:

Push Notifications

You may opt-out from receiving our push-notifications by changing the settings on your mobile device.

Under the GDPR you have certain rights concerning the processing of personal data by us. According to the GDPR you have the following rights:

Right of information: You have the right to be provided information regarding the processing of your personal data by us, in accordance with Art. 13 and 14 GDPR.

Right of access: You have the right to obtain confirmation as to whether or not we are processing your personal data and, if this should be the case, access to the personal data, in accordance with Art. 15 GDPR.

Right to rectification: You have the right to obtain rectification of inaccurate or incomplete personal data concerning you, in accordance with Art. 16 GDPR.

Right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”): Under certain circumstances you have the right to obtain the erasure of personal data concerning you, in accordance with Art. 17 GDPR.

Right to restriction: Under certain circumstances you have the right to obtain the restriction of processing, in accordance with Art. 18 GDPR.

Right to data portability: Under certain circumstances you have the right to receive the personal data concerning you, which you have provided to us, in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and the right to transmit this data to another controller, in accordance with Art. 20 GDPR.

Right to object: Under certain circumstances you have the right to object to the processing of personal data concerning you, in accordance with Art. 21 UK GDPR. This includes but is not limited to the right to object in cases in which we process your personal data on the legal basis of Art. 6 para. 1 let. f) GDPR.

Right to lodge a complaint: You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of the EU of your habitual residence, place of work or place of the alleged infringement if you consider that the processing of personal data relating to you infringes the GDPR, as set out in Art. 77 GDPR.

Right to withdraw consent: If a processing of your personal data is based on your consent as set out in Art. 6 para. 1 let. a) GDPR or Art. 9 para. 2 let. a) GDPR, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time, in accordance with Art. 7 para. 3 GDPR. Such withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal. If you withdraw your consent it is possible that you are not able to use our services anymore.

Right to not be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing: You have the right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing, including profiling, which produces legal effects concerning you or similarly significantly affects you, as set out in Art. 22 para 1 GDPR.

We may also take additional steps to verify your identity before fulfilling your request.

Information security and accuracy

We intend to protect your personal information and to maintain its accuracy. Bible For Her implements reasonable physical, administrative and technical safeguards to help us protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use and disclosure. For example, we encrypt certain sensitive personal information. We also require that our partners protect such information from unauthorized access, use and disclosure.

Whilst we will do our best to protect your data, the transmission of information by you to us is not completely secure and we cannot guarantee the security of your data. Any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your data, we will use the procedures and security features outlined in this section to try to prevent any unauthorised access.

Cookies and other technologies

If you change the analytics setting, the Bible For Her website stores that choice in your browser's local storage so it can be remembered. Declining analytics does not prevent you from using the website.

Google Analytics 4

The website uses Google Analytics 4 with measurement ID G-BN8M8MEVZZ. Where analytics storage is granted, Google Analytics may set first-party analytics cookies and receive information such as the page visited, general browser and device information, website interactions, and clicks from this website to Google Play. When a Google Play link is selected, the destination contains a one-time random click identifier and limited install-referrer campaign fields: the website, campaign, button placement and standard UTM source, medium, campaign and content values. This Play destination attribution is generated independently of optional website analytics. When website analytics is available, the same click identifier is also included in the Google Analytics click event so an app installation can be attributed to that click. The referrer does not contain the page query string. We remove URL query parameters from the page location we send. We do not intentionally send names, email addresses, share keys, or other directly identifying information to Google Analytics or in the install referrer.

Google Consent Mode enables analytics storage by default outside the EEA, United Kingdom and Switzerland. In those consent-required regions analytics storage defaults to denied; the Google tag may send cookieless measurement signals while storage remains denied. Advertising storage, advertising user data, and advertising personalization remain denied everywhere. The website does not use Google Analytics for remarketing or personalized advertising.

You can change this setting at any time by selecting “Cookie settings” in the website footer. When you decline or withdraw analytics, the website stops sending new analytics events for that browser and attempts to remove its Google Analytics cookies. For practices that are considered “sale” under the CCPA guidelines, you may opt out by following the steps described in “Information correction & deletion” in our privacy policy

We do not have actual knowledge of any sale of personal data of minors under 16 years of age, as the term “sale” is defined under the CCPA.

Non Discrimination

Virginia residents have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment by us for the exercise of their rights conferred by the CDPA.

To request access to or deletion of your personal information, to opt-out, or to exercise any other rights under Virginia law, please follow the instruction under the ‘Exercise your privacy rights’ section found above, and follow the necessary steps.

Response Timing and Format

We aim to respond to your request for access or deletion within 45 days of receiving that request. If we require more time, we will inform you of the reason and extension period in writing. If we cannot satisfy your request, we will respond to you with our justification for declining to take action. If you wish to appeal this decision, you can contact us through the method provided in “Contact Us” below.
